Sen. Ted Cruz announces presidential run
to champion conservative groundswell!

"IT'S NOW OR NEVER!"
Conservative Review
August 24, 2015

Saying "it's now or never," Sen. Ted Cruz told Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity on Monday that he made the official announcement of his presidential run because "it's time to start making the case. "

In giving his first interview as an official candidate to Hannity, Sen. Cruz of Texas touched on his key issues of repealing and replacing Obamacare, cutting spending and instituting a "simple flat tax."

"We've got to change what we're doing," Cruz said. "You know, I think there is an urgency to what we're facing in politics that's unlike anything you or I have ever seen before … I don't think we've reached the point of no return yet, but we are close."

On foreign policy, Cruz said the fight against the Islamic State (ISIS) should include arming the Kurds as the primary "boots on the ground." He also favors arming Ukraine and keeping U.S. treaty commitments rather than getting into a "shooting war" with Russia.

Aware that not everyone is happy with his candidacy, Cruz said "when The New York Times says that the Washington elites despise me, my only question is: Do I have to disclose that as an in-kind donation?"

The mainstream media paints Republicans as either stupid or evil, Cruz said, but for him, they've "invented a third caricature: they do anything they can to paint me as a wild-eyed lunatic."

Much like Lincoln, Sen. Ted Cruz has right qualifications for President
Conservative Review
August 24, 2015

History proves there is no singular path to the White House that assures a candidate is likely to be a success once there. However, we do know what traits are found in all of our most successful presidents regardless of party and ideology: courage of conviction, steadfast perseverance in the face of his enemies either foreign or domestic, and the ability to command the mightiest bully pulpit in the world.

Enter, Texas Senator Ted Cruz. (Read more...)

Underrated Ted Cruz has as much a chance as anyone for 2016 ticket
Washington Post
Feb. 13, 2015

A prominent Republican consultant — who isn't working for any of the 2016 presidential candidates and who has been right more times than you can count — said Texas Sen. Ted Cruz had roughly the same odds of becoming the Republican presidential nominee as former Florida governor Jeb Bush. After all, the conventional wisdom is that Bush, the son and brother of presidents, is the frontrunner to be the Republican standard-bearer.

But Cruz is, without question, the dominant figure in the Tea Party, which means — particularly in the early stages of the primary process in places like Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina — he will likely be able to win, place or show repeatedly. (Read more...)

Sen. Ted Cruz: 2016 Election looms as 'Now or Never' Moment for America
NEWSMAX
Feb. 24, 2015

There is a growing sense that the 2016 presidential election is a "now or never" moment for Americans worried about the country’s future, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said during an appearance on Newsmax TV.

"If we continue for eight more years down this road, we risk losing the greatest country in the history of the world," Cruz, a tea party favorite who is considered likely to seek the presidency, told "America's Forum" host John Bachman. "Our debt's gone from $10 trillion to $18 trillion in just six years, our constitutional rights are under assault, and the world is on fire." For GOP victory, Cruz suggests that voters pay keen attention in the primary to "who is standing up and leading" as opposed to who is saying they are doing so. (Read more...)

Sen. Ted Cruz, who has had it with the way the United Nations treats Israel, fired off a letter criticizing the UN for moving to add Israel to a list of human rights violators that target children. If added to the list, Israel would join groups like ISIS and Boko Haram. Watchdog group Human Rights Watch is actively petitioning the UN to add Israel to the list for the deaths of 500 Palestinian children in last year's battles with Hamas in Gaza.  (Read more...)

Sen. Cruz urges United States to back Israel, sanction Iran
Wall Street Journal
May 29, 2015

NEW YORK— Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz stressed his support for Israel and attacked the Obama administration for negotiating a nuclear framework with Iran. In saying how the U.S. needed to strengthen ties with Israel and continue to isolate Iran diplomatically, Sen. Cruz of Texas was particularly emphatic in his support of our only Middle East ally, saying that the next president should immediately reintroduce sanctions against Iran and provide “bunker-buster bombs” to the Jewish state if Iran defies a nuclear agreement negotiated by the Obama administration. “Either Iran will stop or the United States of America will stop it,” said Sen. Cruz, who received a standing ovation at his speech’s conclusion.  (Read more...)

Sen. Cruz presidential campaign 'hitting on a lot of cylinders'
Washington Times
April 29, 2015

Sen. Ted Cruz' presidential campaign has won strong reviews from GOP insiders in key states who say he's managed to tap into the anti-establishment sentiment of primary voters, and his allies have proved they have the ability to raise tens of millions of dollars to boost his bid. "He is expanding his base, and he is right now hitting on a lot of cylinders and I think the mechanics of the campaign have done well," said Dave Carney, a GOP operative in New Hampshire. "My advice is: do not underestimate him. He is a serious, serious, guy and the more the nation's elites make fun of him, the stronger he will be. Everyone ignores him at their own peril."  (Read more...)

Only 100 percent conservative presidential candidate? Ted Cruz!

According to American Conservative Union ratings, only 16 Republicans scored a 100 percent conservative voting record. Of those, only one is officially running for President of the United States. It's none other than Sen. Ted Cruz. And while the media often portrays Hillary Clinton as a centrist, her lifetime rating of 8.13 percent is within two points of self-described Socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders or fringe activist Sen. Elizabeth Warren. (Read more...)

Racist interview of Ted Cruz proves media double standard
Eagle Rising
May 15, 2015

Sen. Ted Cruz recently suffered one of the worst media hatchet attacks ever, with both conservatives and liberals calling reporter Mark Halperin's interview the most racist of a 2016 Candidate, causing the Texas Republican to say: "The media is a disaster, and this is a perfect example of their double standards. ... Imagine if (Halperin) had asked Obama these same questions? He would have been run out of the industry."  (Read more...)

Who is Sen. Ted Cruz' hero? His father, Rafael Cruz!
CBN News
May 1, 2015

WASHINGTON -- During a time in our society when the family is often under attack, it's refreshing when someone like Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, calls his father, Rafael, his hero. This seems to be a classic "like father, like son" scenario: two generations of passionate Christians who overcame huge odds, with the son - an almost unknown candidate - becoming a U.S. senator, thanks in part to a father who had it even tougher.  (Read more...)

Ted Cruz says Republicans will stay home in 2016, if …
Patriot Update

During a recent interview with the SHARK TANK in his Washington, D.C. office, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz stated that Republicans cannot win the 2016 presidential election, if they “don’t stand for anything.”

Cruz added that Republicans need to look to the past several Republican presidential nominees, and stir a way from running similar presidential campaigns that simply “didn’t work.” As CQ Roll Call first reported last October, Cruz held a secret meeting with members at Tortilla Coast during the height of the government shutdown drama. Many of these same Republicans are the agitators who aren’t happy with Speaker John A. Boehner. (Read more...)

Sen. Ted Cruz said Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached if he doesn’t indict former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, who is linked to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, told an adoring crowd at the Values Voter Summit that he would go to the White House right after his speech to meet with President Obama and fight for them.

And then the White House suddenly came to him, as about a dozen pro-Obama hecklers interrupted his speech Friday morning, in steadily increasing intervals.

But, instead of being thrown off stride by the constant interruptions, the quick-witted Texan found a way to reply to every interruption in a way that elicited a rousing round of applause, and often, laughter. (Read more...)
You know, if you look at the last 40 years, a consistent pattern emerges. Any time Republicans nominate a candidate for President who runs as a strong conservative, we win. And when we nominate a moderate who doesn't run as a conservative, we lose.
Everywhere I go people are afraid for the future of our country; I think we’re at the edge of a precipice. If we keep going down this path, we’re risking losing our nation; we’re risking losing the incredible oasis of liberty.
The fight against Obamacare must continue in the face of Washington’s apathy. This is where my attention will remain focused.
Stopping bad things is a significant public service.
I am not willing to compromise on allowing the government to keep growing and expanding our debt.
We need to be vigorous in protecting the national security of the United States, and that means finding and stopping radical Islamic terrorists. At the same time, we need to protect the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.
If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, [the First Amendment is] the next step where it gets enforced. It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages – who speak out and preach biblical truths.
We are seeing our liberties threatened on every front. We’ve seen reports of men and women in the military being told, ‘If you share your faith, if you tell someone the love of Jesus Christ, you face court martial.’ The military has no business whatsoever telling men and women in the military not to share their faith. We are a nation that was founded to end religious oppression,...a new land where each of us could seek out God almighty with all of our hearts, our minds, and our souls. And the idea that this Administration thinks they can muzzle those brave men and women who step forward to defend us is exactly backwards.
